So many people underestimate the importance of file management, and yet it is an essential skill in many professions. I often use the example of laundry when discussing file management. If all of your clothes, shoes, accessories and such were dumped into a pile and you had to get dressed each morning by digging through that pile to find any outfit, how successful would you be? What if you were asked to find one specific item? Even more difficult than the outfit, right? The same goes for file management. If you organize your files and folders, you can much more easily find the files you need when you need them.
We got off to a slow start with all of the schools I am new to this year but we are on our way. We will begin touch typing this week. Pre-tests will help us at the end of the year when we try to see just how far we have come. We will be using TypingWeb.com for most of the instruction, except for kindergarten, which will use other lessons and programs to become acquainted with using the keyboard properly.
