Have you heard of the AMAZING Professional Development technology course series called the 21 Things for the 21st Century Educator? Check out the main website at http://www.21things4teachers.net/. This program has taken the state of Michigan by storm and is helpful for all educators, no matter where in the world they are. Come and learn how to use digital pictures to make stories with music, sound and movement. You can use your own digital pictures, create musical soundtracks and animation, and record your own voice to create your own one-of-a-kind digital stories. Macomb Summer Tech Camp: 21 Things for the 21st Century Student Become a technology wizard by exploring some of the 21 coolest things for students to use on the internet. Learn how to do powerful presentations with Prezi, use interactive tools like Quizlet, Thinkfinity and Google Earth, and create screen-casts using onine video and studio tools. Learn how students can use digital tools to tell personal or academic stories. Digital storytelling weaves the student´s voice, with music and images to create powerful multimedia displays. In the workshop you will learn about preparing and planning with your students. Free resources your students can use for their projects. We will explore a variety of software programs you can use to create digital movies and slide shows. This course is designed for participants who ALREADY have a Weebly website, and wish to learn advanced features. Learn how to add more pizzazz to your Weebly website using Weebly tools and other great add-ons for your site. We will explore adding pictures, videos, and maps. We will also be bringing in neat tools and fun things to spice up your pages, such as adding a talking avatar of yourself, adding maps to chart where your visitors are from around the world, and much more. Weebly is a free website that provides users with a simple drag and drop interface to create their own personal website in just minutes. Weebly is so good it was honored as one of Time Magazine’s 50 best websites of the year. Participants will create their own classroom website during this 2 1/2 hour session, leaving with an online presence they can build upon. Creating an online presence using Weebly is as easy as 1-2-3!
